Hillary Whipple, DMD
I grew up in Alabama, graduated from college at Auburn University in 2009, where I met my husband, Ben. I attended Dental School at University of Alabama at Birmingham. My husband and I discovered our love for the mountains during college and moving closer to them has been our goal ever since. After finishing a residency in general dentistry in Boise, I had the wonderful opportunity to join Dr. McElveen’s practice and move to the Wood River Valley. I could not be happier to be a part of such a wonderful team in such a beautiful, unique location.

H Kirby Skavdahl, DDS
I attended the University of Washington where I obtained my Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1979. After a year of private practice, I attended Medical College of Virginia where I became certified in the dental specialty field of Periodontics in 1982. Moving back to Washington State, I set up a private practice limited to Periodontics, practicing 39 years in Kennewick, until I sold the practice in July of 2021. My college sweetheart, Connie Sue, and I have been frequenting the Sun Valley area since 1986 with our three children, taking in many of the areas' winter and summer activities, include skiing and golfing as well as biking.

I started with Hillary Whipples' practice in November of 2021 and have been practicing in the dental field for several years as a dental assistant prior to Dental Hygiene school.
My passion in dental hygiene is to help the community I live in obtain their optimal oral and overall health!!! In my senior year of dental hygiene school, I specialized in helping patients work through their dental anxiety as well as in periodontal procedures and elderly/special needs patients. I truly believes in making sure my patients feel calm and comfortable before during and after their procedure.

I have been practicing in clinical dentistry since 2008. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from Idaho State University, Summa Cum Laude and an AHEC scholar. I am currently pursuing my Master of Science in Dental Hygiene at ISU as well. My goal is to assist in the advancement of the profession of dental hygiene to allow for more delivery of oral healthcare to the medically underserved populations of our great state. I look forward to helping your smile shine its brightest.

My husband and I moved to Fairfield in 1995, bought property and started a family. Within that time I started a career in the field of dentistry, and I can honestly say dentistry is my passion. I absolutely love working with people and forming new lasting friendships.
I am a dental assistant, and as such, I help patients through every step of their dental procedures. I am fortunate to be trusted by our patients and to have the opportunity to help make each one of them as comfortable and well-cared for as possible. It is a wonderful thing to love and enjoy your job. I can honestly say I love and enjoy mine.
When I am not at work, it’s not a difficult thing to get out and enjoying our beautiful valley. I love to hike with my friends and spend time with my family.
At Hillary Whipple DMD, we will take care of your dental procedures with care and compassion.

I truly enjoy exploring all that Idaho has to offer – from hiking familiar trails, to exploring new ones, skiing our famous Bald Mountain or snowshoeing around the Sawtooth Mountains, life is never uneventful here.
I’m excited for the chance to meet all of our patients and help attend each of you during your dental experience.

My husband and I enjoy camping, white water rafting, hiking, biking, and anything that gets us outside. My passion for the outdoors is equal to helping others. I am truly grateful I am part of this amazing team, -caring for people every day!
